What is Gibibyte?

Gibibyte is a measurement of data storage. It is used to measure how much memory or disk space a device has. One Gibibyte equals 2^30 bytes, or 1,073,741,824 bytes of information.

There are many different types of measurements for storage such as kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, and terabytes – but the gibibyte is relatively more advanced. To put this into perspective; there are about 1000 bytes in a Kilobyte (KB), 1000 KBs in a Megabyte (MB), and 1024 MBs in Gibibytes (GiB).

Furthermore, there are 1024 gibibytes in one tebibyte.
